Amy O’Meara

For the past three years, Amy O'Meara has worked for the Business and Human Rights Program at Amnesty International USA, where she focuses on company engagement, shareholder activism, and grassroots campaigning, toward the goal of increasing corporate accountability for human rights.
Earlier, she specialized in corporate-community engagement, providing technical and research assistance to non-profits and businesses on issues including cross-sectoral partnership development, stakeholder dialogue and social responsibility, first for Pact Worldwide and later as an independent consultant. She has worked on behalf of communities in Asia, Latin America, and Africa, with companies in several sectors, including oil/gas/extraction, chemicals and technology.
A previous career in investment marketing has provided Ms. O'Meara with a first-hand business perspective, helping her negotiate the gulf between companies and civil society. Her credentials include a Masters Degree in International Educational Development from Boston University.
